Fruit & vege bags
Some single-use plastics are easy to avoid, for example, by replacing the light-weight bags in the fruit & vege section of the supermarket with reusable, washable, fabric bags. These ones are made from old mesh curtain fabric and old shoelaces or scrap cord. They're super easy and fun to make in a sewing bee with friends. I sold a bunch of them at school fetes, donating the proceeds to the schools and raising awareness of the "war on waste".
