Concert posters for The Resonants

Home grown – fresh new music by Canberra composers

September 2016

This was a really special event in the history of The Resonants. We put out a call to the composers of Canberra to submit new or existing music and we got such a great response that we were able to put together a complete concert showcasing the brilliant talent in our capital city, including current and former Resonants singers, and over half of which were world premiers.

The composers were: Caleb Campbell, Jenna Cave, Ben Cooper, Kirsten Duncan (yes, me!), Veronika Ferfolja, Sally Greenaway, Kenneth Lampl, Stephen Leek, Jon Nielsen, Louise Underwood, Sally Whitwell and Thea Zimpel.

The theme of the concert called for a design brief above and beyond any previous posters, so I started by printing each of the pieces of music onto coloured paper, then fashioned them into 3-dimensional fruit and vegetables, presented in a wicker basket with a hand-drawn chalk board.
